| PRINTING
How are your invitations and announcements printed?
Our products are printed via two methods: letterpress printing or offset lithography (flat printing). Letterpress is a traditional printing style where the image is pressed into the paper, producing a luxurious and dimensional look. Images and text printed via offset lithography appear flat on the paper, with no added texture. Samples of both styles are available for purchase at Maida Vale's Etsy shop.
Do you offer letterpress printing?
Yes! You can now find letterpress printing as an option under each product's specific page. |

WEDDING INVITATION ETIQUETTE
How far in advance should I send save-the-date cards?
If you are planning on sending save-the-dates, it is recommended that you do so six to eight months in advance. If you are planning a destination wedding, send them as early as possible. This will allow your guests plenty of time to plan accordingly.
When should I send my invitations?
Invitations are usually mailed six to eight weeks prior to your wedding. If you are having a destination wedding, or expect a lot of out-of-town guests, sending them earlier allows everyone the time they need to plan accordingly. Your RSVP date should meet your caterer's needs—typically falling two to three weeks prior to the big day.
If my invitations don't include inner envelopes, how do I indicate who is invited?
Excluding inner envelopes is very common in today's wedding world. Not only does this cut out excess paper waste, but postage might be lower, as well. By simply addressing the outer envelope to all intended recipients, your guests should know who to reply for.
What should I do if a guest replies for four people when I only invited two?
This is a tricky situation that only a larger budget can fix. But, increasing expenses isn't the most desirable solution. Try a friendly phone call or email to gently explain that you aren't able to invite everyone, and that you hope the original guests can still make it.
How should I address the envelope if I don't know the name of a guest's significant other?
If it isn't possible to find out the name of a friend's current squeeze, don't worry! Modern etiquette does not frown upon addressing an invitation to "Mr. Michael Jones & Guest". |
